Modifying Shopping Cart & Shipping Features/Wording  en

I'm now using X5 evolution 8.0.16 and would like to alter 3 things related to the shopping cart:

1. The wording and formatting of the text shown for the page/tables relating to each product category - it all apears a little cramped;

2. Having all products listed to be shown at '0' quantity, by default, instead of '1'  - with a large number of products there's a risk people may mistakenly order things they never actively selected. Returns, cancellations and complaints need to be avoided;

and

3. Use different 'shipping' methods according to the type of product(s) listed on a specific web page - some shipping/delivery charges change as a function of timeframe/urgency required; others are to be charged as a function of product weight, postal insurance or international destination.

Any help offered is greatly appreciated. Also. I'm hoping (in the case of '3', above) I wouldn't need to compile a different website (and associated file folders) just to link one type of shopping and shipping 'experience' to the code from my other, second/third/fourth, set of shopping/shipping pages.

Hello Fusion C.,

Version 8 is now a very old version and official support has long since ceased:

https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/post/101940

If you are patient then you may find that someone from the community is willing to help you out with custom code, etc.

However, if I understand correctly, then the issues you refer to are mostly 'solved' in Professional version 12.  As an existing WebSite X5 user you would almost certainly qualify for a discount on the upgrade price.  Check here for details:

https://answers.websitex5.com/profile/offers

If there is nothing listed then you might like discuss upgrade costs with Incomedia directly, either by opening a new 'Private' post, or alternatively by setting this existing thread to 'Private' by clicking on the small padlock icon at the bottom right of your initial post..

Good luck!

Paul
