USA ecommerce website tax computation error: 6% tax USA on $10.00 should be 60 cents but it computes to 57 cents. I had to change the 6% to 6.4% to get 60 cents - why is this happening? And it of course shows up on the ckout page as 6.4% so I had to appologize & try to convince buyers they would get the correct tax....this is NOT funny.
Part 2: I did find your VAT to TAX answer helpful (the words vat to tax) so thank you.

The VAT calculation is correct, since the final price including VAT (for Business to Consumer) is 100% + VAT = 106%. (10,60 for 0.60 MWST) If you use the price without VAT this is allowed only b2b shops, at least according to EU laws etc. Here was much discussed for Germany / EU with the legal regulations which are extremely complicated, so that pro Country within the EU's own prices and shops.
You can customize the term VAT / Tax under "1 General settings" at "Language of the website". You will find the icon for the words in the different languages. (Cart_total_vat, card_vat, card_shovat _....)

After I logged in to post I see my post is gone :(
I still cannot get this to work - can you walk me thru it please? Just want product at $10.00 to show 60 cents PA State tax = Total $10.60
Have tried several things - program also tries to add tax on the tax...frustrating.
BTW in USA unless they pass a law - internet sales to states outside of your retail shop are tax free. People buy so much stuff online without tax that the big retail stores are upset. DAJ
For different tax systems, the legal tax deduction that prices are shown only including VAT do not have to be solved in a shop system of websitex5. In other words, you would have to build a second project for tax-free deliveries where the tax is not calculated because Websitex5 can not work simultaneously with and without tax.

In Europe this leads to approx. 30-40 different VAT calculations
