Can you please try to close all the programs you have active, also the ones running in background and then restart the program and test it again?

In ase this should not help try also following:

- Open the windows start menu or press the Windows Key + R and search for cmd.exe and  with the rightlick option choose to run it as administrator.

- In the Command Prompt enter following command:

lodctr /R

- Press enter

I still get intermittent program HUNG situation and I follow your advise by doing "lodctr /R" in cmd mode.

Then below error came up.

C:\Users\iw>lodctr /RError: Unable to rebuild performance counter setting from system backup store, error code is 5

I oversse your note by being Administrator.

So I ran lodctr /R again and it showed up with.

C:\WINDOWS\system32>lodctr /RInfo: Successfully rebuilt performance counter setting from system backup store
C:\WINDOWS\system32>

I do not know if this help in future.
