How to extend search to subdomains

I have a domain www.vrajaramanart.co.za and a subdomain www.devoteehub.vrajaramanart.co.za
i would like to extend the search object (provided by website x5) to the website in the domain and subdomain.
how can i make this work? I have tried it before but it doesnt work, its like two separate websites.
How can i extend the search between both domain and subdomain websites?
