Extended Page Title BUG

There is a very irritating BUG in both Website X5 version 12 and version 13.
See the screenshot sequence attached below.
If I delete an Extended Page Title, it will be deleted provided I do NOT re-open the Properties dialog box for that page.
If I re-open the Properties, the Extended Page Title "magically" returns! Then it has to be deleted again.
When an Extended Page Title is removed, it should remain removed. It should not re-appear and then have to be deleted again, every time the Properties dialog box is opened.
What is the anticipated time-frame for Incomedia to fix this BUG?

Myron,
You need to remove the TAG in fron to remove the Title, not the text. Just remove the V Tag that is in front. This sets the title or not.
By removing text and keep ext. tiltle set the program gives priority to the TAG.
Best Regards.

Hello Andre, and thank you for your reply. Unfortunately, removing the checkmark [√] does not stop the Extended Page Title from appearing on the web page. I wish it worked that way, but it does not. That's why it is a BUG.
The ONLY way that I can prevent the Extended Page Title from appearing is to leave the checkmark [√] on and delete the text. This works fine as long as I do not again re-open the Properties for that page.
So, I can get the desired result, but the X5 software is not programmed to work properly. A BUG!
Hello Myron,
Well it works on my pc like it should, also on my laptop, also in previous version and latest version.
If I set the tag I can see the extended page title in step3 if I remove it then the title is gone. I don't have to remove the text.
Have you updated to latest version and not yet restarted pc? Then try a restart and see if problem is still there, don't start other programs after restart, just x5.
solved?
If not try a new project does it work correct? Then export project and import the exported project and see if this has done the trick.
Hope you can sort it out, if it is a bug I should have it also unless it's something in your project or a strange combination, that's why you need to check a clean prject as well.
Best regards,

Hi Andre... Well, I wish it would work on my computer the way it works on yours.
I have the latest versions of both ver. 12 and ver. 13 of Website X5 and it misbehaves on both versions. In addition, this "misbehavior" has existed in every update of this software and every project I have done since I first started using it.
I can't understand why.

I have decided that the best way to demonstrate problems with Website X5 is to make short videos that explain what I am trying to do. The link below clearly proves that there is a BUG with the Extended Page Title on my computer. Actually, it's two computers, because I have the software installed on a laptop as well. Please see this 5-minute video on YouTube. Be sure to set the YouTube playback to the highest quality:

Myron, go to step 2, customisation, text style, then take the tick out of page title and page path if necessary.
Yep. Why didn't he look at other pages.
Myron,
As already said by Serg and Esahc, this is your page title that you see (step2 customization -> text style.)
With the extended page title you can give this a different name, then the one in the site map.
Read the help file for it's function. http://help.websitex5.com/en/v13/pro/mappa_pagina.htm
If you remove the text and keep the tag on, it will show you nothing cause you removed the text. For testing items use always differen colours and text's so you are sure you know what text you are viewing.
Some info about the use of the extended page title:
The title TAG (the code that is in the HEAD section of your website has influance on these issues:
By changing this you can keep a different title in your menu then you will provide for search engines, you (add) favorites text will be different, and for the page title on your website will be different, the menu item will stay the same.
Hope this helps....again test with another name and you will see the difference.

Hello Esahc... FANTASTIC! That's what I needed to know. Problem solved. It's interesting how Website X5 has so many "tricks" tucked away in areas I would never think to look.
