Second level of menus

Hi,could someone please tell me step by step how i make a second level menu,i have tryed and can only create a single drp down menu i want menus running off that one.

You can do this in the drop down menu style, set menu type to multiple colums and set the maximum item. (step2 template customization -> drop down menu.

seperators in the menu can also help. just play around with it ans you will find a way that suits your wishes.
