Hello,
Is there a way to minimize the size of the website by deleting stuff from the ftp not used by the website?
I've noticed a lot of images I'm not using, even from the basic Templates, still there.
2. If I upload only changes after i replaced a header image, what happen to the old image uploaded befor?

X5 does not delete items from your webhost server.
So if you have older items that you don't use anymore you can delete them.
I would make a copy of your host files, (with an ftp program like filezilla) then delete all content then upload your website again.
It depends on how often you remove items but once a cleanup every year or so can't hurt. But it can also not hurt leaving the files there. Especially pictures / files in the flders is no problem to leave them. exept if space becomes critical but that is not often IMHO.
