Why will MP3 files not play in Safari?  en

I use Incomedia WebSite X5 Evolution 11.

I have uploaded some audio MP3 files into my site but they will only play in Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox. Why will they not play in MAC based Safari?

I have tried creating the files in different ways with Cubase, Audacity and MixPad but with the same results. The parameters are ok - 44100khz and bit rate between 8mpbs and 320 mpbs (160 to be exact).

I have tried loading WAV and M4A files but they will ONLY play in Safari and not the other browsers. They will not even play in the X5 internal browser.

MP3 is the most basic and standard format for cross-browser audio files. Why does this not work?

I cannot access the HTML 5 Option as it does not seem to exist in 11. The only HTML I have found is in Pages Creation/Page Properties and only allows you to insert completely fresh HTML and not to add to the existing, which would possibly allow for different versions of the files to be uploaded to work in multiple browsers.

Please help.

and mp4 ?

I would try that format. It's the most common at the moment.
