Font Issue  en

I was running website x5 version 10 on a windows vista machine without any issues. I tried to take the  program over to a new windows 0 computer but it didnt work right and I can not find my license for it. I bought version 14 and installed it. I was able to make changes to my website but when I tried to upload it I got the error saying some fonts used in this document have not been linked to this project.

I allowed it to continue but it made a mess of my website. I went back to my old computer and reloaded my web site without an issue. I did export my project from the older verison and import it in the newer version. Thinking there might have been an issue with the export I imported the same file back into version 10 and had no issues.

I have been reading trying to find a solution but havent had any luck yet. I will attach a picture of the error.

Thanks

I had a similar issue. It is a little confusing to find on your own but it is a pretty simple fix. Just need to install the missing fonts in the list of the error. They might be in windows already but Website x5 doesn't see them.

Open #2 Template section. Click Text, Field and Button Style. CLick drop down for Font Type. Choose Other Font Types at bottom of list. Click Add. Choose Web Font.

If you have the font installed in Windows, it will be in C:\Windows\Fonts. Open that folder location and see if the name of the missing font is listed. If it is listed, I copeid that font to my desktop. Then back in x5, click the TTF File for offline display folder icon on right side. Browse to your desktop and choose the .ttf file. Click Open then OK. Font will be listed in the box now. CLick OK. Exit x5 completely then re-open the program and your project. Font error should be gone.

If the fonts you are missing are not listed in C:\Windows\Fonts, you will need to download the .ttf file from the web. Just google search the font name. Download and extract the folder to get to the .ttf. the rest of the directions will stay the same.

FYI - I searched my PC (WIN 10 PRO) font folder to see if your missing fonts were listed. I didn't have Braggadocio at all. I had different versions of the other two. I had Monotype Corsiva Italic and Vladimir Script Regular. I am not sure if these would be accepted by x5 as the same so you might have to download all 3.

There was another way to add Google fonts, but I never messed with it. I did have to do the other way though and it worked perfectly for me.

Good Luck!

The best solution is to replace all of the fonts in your project with google fonts. You can do this by selecting any text, select font, other font types, add and then browse for an equivalent to Braggadocio, Monotype Corsiva and Vladimir script. Keep in mind that this will add those fonts only to the current project.

If you must use the existing fonts, you could copy the ttf files to any folder on your pc (from your old PC), and then select the Webfont Tab (instead of Google Font). I am not sure of the legality of this, and neither am I sure if WX5 will allow it to be published (it may appear in preview, it may not load as part of the website). I understand that WX5 allows only Websafe Fonts by default.

You existing V10 site almost certainly never displayed with the correct fonts unless the user had those same fonts installed on their PC (possible) and on their tablet/mobile (extremely unlikely).

Changing all the fonts on your site is a major pain (I know because I'm on the 3rd day of replacing fonts on a rather large site), but it will future proof your site and ensure it displays as you intended on any hardware.
