Error in XML Document using Website X5 Evolution 15  en

I am using Website X5 Evolution 15.  I have been using the same template for months.  I made some adjustments on the website then saved it.  I thought about another item to change and tried to open the program and got "error in XML document 14103,1166.  It will not let me open the program at all.  I need to keep the website operating so what can I do to correct the problem?  I tried to copy the latest backup to the project folder and named the old project.iwprj2 to project-broke.iwprj2 and renamed the copied backup to project.iwprj2.  It did not work.  I got the same message.  This is a continuing problem so I need not only a short time fix but a permanent solution.

David, has this query been answered/resolved?

I'm sure I posted a reply recommending you rename the XML files where the same file name exists with a bu as prt of the name, and then rename every xml file with bu in it to remove the bu in the hope that your project would then open.

If not, please advise if you need clearer instructions.

The only alternative is to import the most recent iwzip you have which should be no more than a couple of weeks old from when you upgraded to v15

How do I locate the xml files in the project file?  The only answer I received when this happened before was to rename the current iwzip to broke and name the latest backup the iwzip file.  I am willing to try to rename the xml files but how do I find them and what does renaming them to BU do to solve the problem?  Will the bu be removed on restart?

David

Rename the ones pointed to in red to filename.old

Rename the ones point to in blue to the original name (without bu in it)

If you cannot see the .xml you may need to turn on file name extensions in Win explorer (in win10, click view and put a tick in the box)

This will only help you if it is one of the above files which have corrupted.

Good luck.
