I am having problems using SFTP, with the process aborting. I have spent time with 1&1 and eventually used Filezilla to upload the site.
I am getting the error as in the attached picture. It would appear that i am not alone with the problem but have dificulty with the non english items and understanding them
I am using Kaspersky if that is any help

Nigel, assuming you were able to upload using Filezilla with the exact same credentials and destination it sounds suspiciously like ftp within WX5 is being blocked. Can you temporarily totally disable (or remove) Kaspersky and any other malware/firewall packages?
If these are the cause then you will be able to add an exception.
Hello Nigel,
If you want to use SFTP then I suggest you to get it from your own hosting server instead of any third party software.
Thank you
Hi all,
@Nigel, is your URL correct with the folder you created (website6)? (like this "http://www.test.fr/website6")
Logically it's not necessary to indicate this folder on your "username" on 1&1 server.
Here is my configuration on 1&1 (Linux server) for my main website, and it's works fine:
Hope this will help you a bit,
J.P.
Dont use SFTP, just FTP.....?

Many thanks all, I have a hosting account with 1and1 and host 5 or 6 other sites within my account, hence the website6 destination folder 'website6' and not the root.
This is an existing site which was hand crafted a good few years ago, the business has been taken over hence the need to do some temporary changes. I created a new project for it in X5 and filezilla has been the only way that I can upload the site
I have used the FTP 'Server Type' sucessfuly for many years but cant get that to work either.
I have paused Kaspersky for 15 mins, but still no success. This is the first time I have used SFTP, I am able to FTP to other sites. Could this be some sort of corruption to the X5 site record?
