The purchase the payment automatically after receiving the payment option in the shopping cart does not work, which means the stock level is not adjusting and i am not getting any payment notification either. The DB as far as I can tell are all setup correctly an will adjust the stock levels when I manually process the orders.

Can anybody help?

Hi John.

Is your page online for testing by any chance?

Are you using the Available quantity option for your products? Meaning that when you open your webpage you can see the actual availability of the product?

Did you select the Paypal payment method? That is the only payment method that currently supports the immediate delivery after payment. If so, does the PayPal procedure end successfully after payment or not?

Or perhaps I misunderstood the issue and the delivery is not it? The quantity should get in fact updated only after you confirm the order in the Admin page.

keep me posted on this matter with further details so that I might help you futher

Thank you

Stefano

Hi Stefano

Just noticed  "the purchase" should be "the process"  but from your reply I guess you sussed that. So from reading your rely you have to confirm the order in the Admin page to show the correct quantity (which is what it is doing ). So not really a automatic processes at all?

Also noticed when the client pays thru the shopping cart the confirmation email that is received by the client has "Pay" button it which will cause confusion as they might pay twice, don’t understand why this is shown?

Hi John.

Exactly. As mentioned by you, every payment method that doesn't support the instant delivery of the product such as the one added in v17 with PayPal will require manual confirmation of the order through the Admin panel.

At the moment, this is the way the software's cart processes the orders.

It is also true about the button in the email. It will be presented even though it is presented in the final cart page too. The reason for this is that since the order is not saved for a user in a "user account", should the user want to pay later, he would have to remake the order from scratch. This way, he can still choose to pay for the order later, even if the page has been shut down.

You can customize the summary email to correctly indicate to your user to only pay if he didn't already do so in the final page of the cart at Step 1 -> Shopping Cart:

I hope I've been helpful

Stefano

Hi Stefano

Thank you for the reply, even tho it does not offer any help, guess I will have to except that it is what it is. The site will start taking orders next month; I guess time will tell if I start to get "double" payments. You said "At the moment. This is the way the software’s cart processes the orders" are there any plans to improve this? I can see that this has been a problem for some years looking at the forums....................surely it’s about time it was changed?

I have put a message in the summary email, but it does not look very professional to have to tell your customers not to pay twice!

Hi John.

At the moment there are no official plans for changing this functionality, but I can confirm that since the need for change have now been reported several times by the users about the way this feature works specifically, the matter has been forwarded to the developers, and is currently still under discussion in order to fully analyze the matter properly.

I'm sorry about not being able to help further right now, but rest assured that this matter has not been forgotten

Thank you

Stefano
