Hi guys,

As can be seen from the attached pic I have the layout of the website hense the menu and sub menu should reflect same which is good.  However, when I "Mouse-over" on the "About-us" I can only click on women menu selection.  When I attempt clicking on any item after that eg: Hardware, Test page 1, Test page 2, Test page 3 the menu fades away and no item is clickable or selectable.

Also as can be seen on the site structure I have a "Level 1" called About us that lead to the "About us" page then the same page is twice on the menu... Not what I have in mind...

What am I doing wrong ?

Many thanx for your assistance.

Christo

Hello Christo,

Right-click on your menu in Step 2 Template Settings > Template Content and select 'Bring to front' from the context menu which appears, as depicted in the screenshot below.  This will allow your menu to have the necessary focus required to enable proper navigation.

Once done, reupload your site to the server, and clear your browser cache before testing afresh.

Kind regards,

Paul

As regards your second question, you need to make the 'About us' page a 'hidden page in the menu', whilst keeping the 'About us' level visible.

You use the button marked 'Hidden' on the editing toolbar to do this.

Click (once only) on the 'About us' page in the map to give it focus, then click on the 'Hidden' button on the toolbar.  The 'About us' page will then show as greyed out in the map.  You can reclick the 'Hidden' button to make it visible again, should you need to do so.

The above assumes that you have also connected the 'About us' level to the 'About us' page with a hyperlink, using the 'Properties' button on the same toolbar.

Hi Paul,

Many thanx!  The 2nd question I got fixed and the menu display correctly now :)

In my first question I mentioned that the menu doesnt allow me to reach beyond the 2nd item.  I tried your suggestion and it effects only the Hamburger menu in the header part of the page.  The menu I have at the bottom of the page still has the issue and nowhere can I find an option to "Bring to front".

I have a suspision that the footer might be the culprit as the menu is located right at the bottom of the page, so the objects on the footer I have "Send to back" the 2 items I have there but this did not help either ...  I am not sure if you will have the time but the website addy is https://firelighters.org.za

Kind regards

Christo

If you have other objects on the footer then the same right-click context menu should be available to you with the 'Bring to Front' option for the menu, just as with the header.  See this screenshot:

There's an update available for your copy of WebSite X5, Christo.  You can download it here:

Download WebSite X5

I don't think there's any issue with the software version you are running (with regards to the menu) but we might as well rule it out.

If you end up stuck on this then you're welcome to send me your WebSite X5 project file...  I could make the necessary change and return the file to you.

There's a secure contact form on my website:

Contact Paul M.

If you decide to do this then I'd need you to export an IWZIP file in Step 5 of WebSite X5  -  you can either send this file as an attachment to the contact form, or alternatively use the WeTransfer option on the contact form.

Hi Paul,

I have applied the update. Thank you.

I though that re-thinking the "page menus" is maybe not a bad idea so I put it in the "Sticky bar" of the site and it does not look bad I think...  It works very well there. :)

Thanks for your patients.

Christo
