Hi,

A few days ago I noticed that the pages of my website http://winghigh2020.co.uk have a white stripe on the right hand side if you scroll any page to the left - This is only a problem on smartphones. What have I done???? Help :)

Thanks, Robert.

Hello Robert,

You haven't done anything wrong.  The white stripe you refer to is the edge of the scroll bar, and it's quite normal for this to be present on longer pages.  It will not show where there is no necessity to scroll to read the contents.

If you view the desktop version of your website you will observe the scroll bar on the right-hand side of the screen.

Kind regards,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks.

It's a bit unusual looking but if that's what it is and that's how WebsiteX5 does its thing, then OK :)

All the best,

Robert.

As long as there are no objects in your template header/footer which exceed the boundaries of the smartphone viewport then all is as it should be.  But it would do no harm to check.

An example of incorrect placement in the smartphone viewport:

Object placed outwith working area.

Hi Paul,

You are BRILLIANT !!!!

That was the error. I am developing a new idea for a page to hold all the authors and as a quick way to access it, I placed a dash '-' on the right side of the menu with a hyperlink to the page. It was fine at desktop size but not at 'smartphone' size. Moving the dash to the left a bit fixed the issue.

MANY THANKS.

All the best, Robert.
