Multiple copies of .pdf file in pluginAppObj folder when I publish.  en

I am working on a website, off line, and have a .pdf file linked to a line of text.  The .pdf file appears in the website "files" folder.  When I publish to disk I get 22 copies of the .pdf file in the "pluginAppObj" folder.

Also, in the workspace "Preview" folder, "pluginAppObj" subfolder I also have 22 copies of the file. If I delete the copies, then load the project, Website 5X repopulates the subfolder with 22 copies.

Is there any way I can avoid this?  If I publish to a web host will all of those copies be uploaded?

I think this problem was reported back in 2017.

Hello.Unfortunately, you are right. The program does not delete such files.

If you once added a file, it will remain in the project and will be uploaded to the site.
Just in case, I sent a request to the technical support of the developer. Expect an answer from them here in the comments.

I must have done something that the program could not handle.  I deleted the link, the pdf, etc.  Saved the project without it. Closed the program, reopened, added the link and file and the problem is gone.

Of course after I did that I realized I should have saved the problem website so the tech people could troubleshoot the problem.  I think it will be very hard to recreate it.

Thanks for the response.

Peter, please make regular iwzip files (step 5, export project and rename as necessary to keep multiple copies)

The iwzip would have given you the ability to import the project complete with issues (assuming the issue didn't get fixed when the iwzip was created). The iwzip is the only true backup of WX5. Never trust the built in backup.
