Working on Large Project  en

Sorry I was late with looking fro reply last time I asked.

Mean time I work on 2.6ghz Intel and 4gb ram

Got a project 704MB and one 54,7MB. I am not sure when the first is that size with 388 web-pages, and the other lot smaller with 206 web-pages.

With both I have no problem working on content of a page, the problems start when working on say the back-end of the site. scripts, tags, adding pages etc.

i have no pages with empty fields

a better processor helped, bit did not solve my issues. most commands leads to overload and stalling system.

Raoul, you say there was a previous post? Could you provide a link??

WX5 will always take much longer when changes are made that effect the whole project (eg changes to the header or footer, additional pages, etc), in these cases it is wise to do a ctrl+preview which forces an update of every page (but it does take some time) after each major change (and go to step 5, export project to create a uniquely named iwzip frequently) .

With regards your PC

2.6ghz intel, but which processor? (eg a core I5 will be significantly faster that a pentium or core2duo)

Is this oldish hardware (eg has the hard disk been used for a number of years) and what operating system are you running? If it is Win 10 that has been upgraded from Win 7 it may be carrying a significant load of garbage from years of use. If it is old (and specifically if it is Win 7) I would check the hard disk (chkdsk c: /r from an admin dos prompt), I would run a program like ccleaner (free) to clear out garbage and I would run a defrag overnight (defraggler is free).

But if you want the best performance I would purchase an SSD and cold install Win 10 onto it, then copy all your files to it from the old HD and later install all your software (Office, WX5, etc). If you are currently running a mechanical HD you will be surprised at the performance boost because WX5 is very disk intensive.

Of course if you are running across a network, using external USB or have onedrive (or others) synchronising, then nothing will assist, and if you are using a "heavy" anti-virus package (eg Norton), then this too will impact (most av packages will inspect every html file as it is written).

"a better processor helped, bit did not solve my issues. most commands leads to overload and stalling system. " - try to temporarily disable the antivirus and firewall, try to run as few programs as possible while working with the site, make sure that there are no empty cells on the pages of the site (fill them with empty objects text).

Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-4210M CPU @2.60Ghz

I tried the lot, many times. I started working on 3 pc's, feeling I am back to the '80s.

The thing is when removing a , or a . in the seo of 1 page it creates rendering over say 400 pages. that is not only painful but gets costly over time.

anyways, will remain alive (and kicking), thanks

and indeed, if i was overall unhappy i woud not upgrade my licenses year over year. i have to organize the works on each page, that i reduce time that way. have peaked in to the cms solutions others use, most is the back end of a page hard to find, and if you find seo functions, it does not mean i understand the required entry

the more i use seo and simple J scripts, see the almost results in google ranking, the more I like this sort off the gride solution you offer. enough sites that do nothing in roi.

all the best

Wenige PlugIns

Keine leeren Zellen (zwingt WSX 5 in die Knie)

Keine zu lange Seiten (beeinflusst die Ladezeiten)

Bilder komprimieren (macht WSX 5 2019.3.14)

JS und CSS komprimieren (macht WSX 5 2019.3.14)

Many have a too weak (or older) configuration and this brings WSX 5 to its knees, especially when building weighty (large) websites.

SEO is a separate topic that has to be dealt with extensively.

Few plug-ins

No empty cells (forces WSX 5 to its knees)

No long pages (affects loading times)

Compress images (makes WSX 5 2019.3.14)

Compress JS and CSS (makes WSX 5 2019.3.14)
