All of my websites would export to a hard drive in under 60 secs and they all now take over 15 mins to export and the file size has increased on every webiste when I export substantially, is there any reason for this?

I have not noticed any change in upload speed.

But a drive and an ftp server make a lot of difference. Is this all with same provider?

Maybe upload on internet is slow and firwall might interfene alos a bit different from pc to drive then as pc to internet.

I tink i can come upp with more reasons, it's difficult to judge from here. But connection speed and receiving from ftp is definatly a big part of this.

Big files in the project take also longer if you export to internet. If you have a lot of big files you can let x5 check and adjust or you can upload them seperatly and then use in the project obly a link this helps speeding up upload a lot.

you can tune in step1 settings -> advanced TAB -> statistics, seo and code -> SET TAB

Uploading to internet is fine, just the transfer to my hard drive takes ages. It gets to 45% and them takes 15 minutes or more to complete. If I check file size before making a simple text change it was 45,000kb and after the file size has increased to 130,000kb (approx).

Strange that it's taken more on your drive.

That file size increases can be, because x5 creates a lot of files from the master (your project) during upload, it makes from the project a website. So if you have a lot of pictures and make thumps or so (just one example), it can expand.

But how fast is it to drive if you deactivate the firewall//virusscanner?

My test projects yakes to drive seconds, on internet upload is minutes....

Also other items that are hopefully helpful:

Is your drive maybe almost full? is it fragmented?
