Using X5 Evo I would like to set a username/password to access a specific page of a website.
This username/password would be for a group of people to access the page if they know the username & password.
Could someone please give me the steps to achieve this.
Thanks Alan

Adding to my previous question:
I can see how by clicking LOCKED PAGE I can select from Access Management but how in Access Management do I set up a User with just a login name and password rather that an email address.
Can this be done in X5 Evo - I .
Thanks Alan
Hello Alan,
This could be done in earlier versions of WebSite X5, but more recent versions require a mandatory email address.
Kind regards,
Paul
Search the WebSite X5 Help Center
Assuming its similar to Pro version.
Create a user under Group 1 and then I would just create a user/pass with your own email address (or email tied to domain, e.g. ***) and send that out to the group? That should allow everyone with user/pass to access the locked page..
You may have to set up admin account first and maybe a DB as well ??
see below ?
Hi Alan C,
In previous editions of X5 you could set up any log in name that you wished i.e.
Joe Bloggs, Mary Smith etc. However unfortunately Incomedia in their “wisdom”
has set it up, so that you can only use an e-mail format for the user’s name.
You can use any name that you want as long as it looks like an e-mail address,
it does not have to be a real e-mail address i.e ***
Someday Incomedia will listen to their users, we can but live in hope.
Jim
It should be nice to have a choice for credential like
- Username
- Email
- Phone number
- Other code
Hi Alan,
thank you for getting in touch.
I confirm the user needs to report the e-mail address in order to log in to locked pages.
Thanks! Kind regards.

Thanks Jim C. it seems a bit of a back door option to make up a dummy email just to suit the criteria.
Elisa B, would Incomedia please consider the option that we had in earlier versions of having a Username & Password in addition to the Email option similar to what Axel as suggested.
Regards
Alan
