Level menu of hamburger menu is always grey in color

My hamburger menu has a level (submenu) and for some reason the level/submenu background is always grey in color, even though I did not set that color anywhere.
I can't figure out how to change the level menu color to match the rest of my hamburger menu color scheme.
See images attached. Any idea how I can fix this?
It is the same case on the hamburger sticky menu.

Hi Andre, in my level menu, main menu, and hamburger menu settings, there is no value set for the background image.
