Text at the top of menu buttons  en

I have a 5 button vertical menu and the text is along the top of the button not in the centre. I have tried every thing I can see to no avail. I have 4 other sites that do not have this problem. Strangely the site displays perfectly in X5 but not when published on the web using Chrome and other browsers.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

The site is at www.iwtherapy.com

Regards

Dave

Hello Dave,

It's definitely the main menu settings...  I can see the aberration in the source code of your website.  However, if the site displays properly in the WebSite X5 preview, then it may be that all you have to do is hold down the CTRL key whilst entering the Preview mode in WebSite X5, wait for the preview to build to completion, then export the entire site afresh to the server in Step 5.

Clear your browser cache before testing the newly uploaded pages online.

Kind regards,

Paul

Hi Paul,

Thanks for the reply,

I tried holding CRTL whilst entering preview, re-uploaded the whole site several times but the problem still persists.

Is there any thing else I can do?.

Regards

Dave.

You could post a screenshot of your Main Menu settings?

Also, you have a metatag (Google site verification) in the wrong place on your page(s)...  it's currently located before the opening HTML tag...  it should be in the HEAD section of the page instead.  I don't believe this has anything to do with your menu issue, but it should be rectified all the same.

This is how the page looks when the erroneous Main Menu settings are corrected:

Strangely the site displays perfectly in X5 but not when published on the web using Chrome and other browsers.

Another possibility could be that you are uploading to the wrong folder on the server.  It may be that the page you see online is an old page.  Check that the server details and destination folder parameters are exactly as they should be in Step 5 of WebSite X5.

Hi Paul,

Ok, I moved the Google site verification. I deleted the whole site from the server and re uploaded it. I am looking at the correct version online.

I have attached the menu settings. I could upload a backup of the site if that would help?.

Thanks for your help thus far.

Dave.

Thanks for the update, Dave.  I'm more convinced than ever that you are uploading into the wrong folder on the server...  the reason being that the Google site verification metatag is still present in exactly the same place as before...  it's line 1 in the source code of your page as shown below:

This screenshot was taken after clearing my browser cache and reloading your website, so whatever changes you made to your project within WebSite X5 have not been reflected on the server.  This strongly suggests that the server/destination folder details in Step 5 are not correct.  It's also possible that the nameservers for your domain (iwtherapy.com) are not pointing to the correct server.  Did you recently change domain registrar?

If you like you can export your project as an IWZIP file in Step 5 of WebSite X5, and send it to me here:

Thank you Dave, could I ask you to resend the IWZIP file please?  My mistake, nothing to do with yourself...  my apologies.

Thanks again for sending your project over, Dave.

The issue is the erroneous metatag which has been inserted before the opening HTML tag on all pages in Step 1 Settings > Advanced > Statistics, SEO and Code > Expert tab > Custom Code:

If you remove the code highlighted above from this exact location in your project, then make a fresh upload to the server, all should be well.

Hi Paul,

Well Well who would have thought it......... I didn't even know that was still there.

Thanks for your help I don't think I would have ever found that without your help.

Dave.
