ive tried looking through all of the email form doesnt work messages but still cant get the email form to work.

We have PHP 7.0.33 (thats as high as i could get the techs to load on the web server I am on) so.. not sure if the PHP suggested post function works on that or not.   I have tried Post/Get.. ive tried every other various SMTP to the simpliest text email option that there is.. nothing works.. so im guessing i have to get the Techs on the webhosting site to do somehting for us.   I want to use the form as it has some great info I'd like to get from our visitors..

Is there something I have to edit specificially to have it send ..   We had something lower then the php 7.0.33 and we were getting HTTP 500 errors.. and after the upgrade we get a blank screen.. with no error.. (but no email either...)

Sorry i DONT know PHP .. i wish.. and im trying to learn as much as i can.. i do know some basic HTML but this is why we bought Websitex5.. it appeared to do the stuff I needed it to do

Hello.I recommend changing hosting.Look for a host with PHP 7.3, 7.4, 8.0 support.

OK so if that isnt currently an option.. how can i send a form..   im ok with NOT using PHP..   I'll try and get them to upgrade to something higher but how about is there a way to send it and have it work without PHP .. none of the SMTP options seem to work either.

Hello Steve

Emails can only be sent via specific types of code to which PHP belongs. It is not possible to send emails without using those and WebSite X5 requires PHP v7.1 or higher minimum to work.

In this case, I can only advise attempting to upgrade the PHP version or switching to a more updated hosting provider

I remain available in case you have any questions

Thank you

Stefano

Thanks.. understood.. I'll have to hand code something in html and just embed it into the site then..  seems like there would be some sort of option to use "legacy" options as there have been Mail() forms that worked long before PHP code was generated..   Thanks.. we do like the X5..and we have asked if they can up grade our site.. but its not so easy to just switch " to someone else"
