Uploading And Images  en

Hi,

Just a quick and possibly simple question.

I've recently moved all of my business files to OneDrive cloud based files.

I've always places the images that are uploaded to my website in a folder on my desktop hard drive and left them there.

Now I'd like to move the images to my OneDrive folder so I can access them from multiple computers easily.

So the question is, do I need to relink the location of all the images to the files that would be moved to a new folder, or are they saved within my website upload until I change them manually to new ones and reupload?

Hoping that I am able to simply move the image files, and everything remains intact online until I choose to change images and then the NEW images are uploaded from the new folder and the old images just remain as is, as I have 4500 image files.

Hello.

"do I need to relink the location of all the images to the files that would be moved to a new folder" - no.

"or are they saved within my website upload until I change them manually to new ones and reupload?" - yes.

"I'd like to move the images to my OneDrive folder so I can access them from multiple computers easily." - if you want to upload files to a project from a cloud drive, then this can cause a lot of problems. I don't recommend doing that.

I highly recommend using Project Export. It is this option that is designed to transfer files from one computer to another.

Hi Aleksej,

Thanks for your reply.

I use Export Project every time I make signioficant changes to my website, usually a couple of times per week.

You answered my questions, just to clarify one.

You said uploading from cloud drive can cause problems.

I poresume this is when fiules are ONLY on the cloud?

My computers arre set up to sync wityh the cloud and download any changes to each hard drive. so effectively I would be uploading files from my OneDrive folder which is located on my hard drive.

Assume this is ok?

You can store a backup copy of the project files anywhere. But when you work with these files, they must be on the local drive.
