Update on next-gen photo format

Two years ago it was discussed about using a next-gen photo format that Google wants to see in websites,
has X5 pro had any updates on whether the program will support that photo format?

Joe, there is no mention of work towards new photo formats for use in WX5 but there are many new formats in the mix, is there a specific format you wish to use? Is it WebP?
My view is to stick with proven formats compatible with 100% of browsers, I believe WebP is only recognised by 90% of browsers.
