X5 is taking over my pc!  en

When I'm exporting the web site, either to a local folder or uploading to the web host it appears to take over my pc.  The cpu is running at almost 100% and 2 to 3 Gigabytes of memory are being used.

This happens when "Preparing your website for the upload" is being displayed.

There are almost 70 pages in this web site but the majority (over 50)  of these are simply a small amount of text with a few pictures, and there are no moving/flashing items on these pages.

Is it because of the number of pages?

If so, is the answer to have a template screen and a mysql database together with some php to display the appropriate stuff?

You can see the website at https://www.crookmorris.org.uk and the majority of the pages can be found under Archive.

See attached screen shot (I know that Task Manager is somewhat crude, but it's a good guide)

Dave, are you perhaps using ctrl+preview?

This will force the whole website to be regenerated and all files to be updated/uploaded even though you may select new and updated for upload.

I am using the Preview icon (top right).  I am unaware of the ctrl+preview option.

Certainly when I update the webserver it always appears to be loading the entire website and not just the updated pages.

I forgot to mention that I do have a local webserver and I often use the Export the website to disk" option, so that I can run my php code locally befor I unleash it on the world!  I am thinking that this may be the problem if it is generating the entire website everytime.

Dave, if you are using 3rd party (or code you developed) Incomedia cannot help.

If you export to disk and then use FileZilla to upload new and changed does this give you an indication of how much of your site is uploading every time you do a minor update?
