How to import website files to new computer?

hello. i was working on 2 different website using the website x5 evolution 8, but unfortunately i had problems with my laptop and it won't start, when the system recovery appears i clicked "ok" after that all the files were gone and i do not have a backup files for those 2 websites. now i re-installed the website x5 e8 but the project files are already gone. how can i import the files from the website to my laptop using the website x5 e8? would really appreciate your immediate reply as i have a deadline. thank you.

unfortunately it is not possible to import files from the website to your laptop.
I am sorry to tell you this but you will have to do the website from scratch...
For the future you can make backups on a regular basis and safe them on an external hard drive.

Hi Lisa, I've already completed 1 website and still working on the other 1 from scractch. However, I have another problem. I wanted to upload the new website files throughftp.district79.orgbut it won't go through. I used the same username and password as before and the initial directory is /htdocs/d79 and i tick the use passive ftp. I've tried for several times but to no avail. Is there a way to find the correct username and password through previous activities? Please help as I need to upload the files and update our website. Thank you.

unfortunately I can not help you with this issue. You need to contact your provider to find out what thecorrect username and password are.
What you can also do is to try another program for ftp, as for example filezilla.
