I want to shorten a page url by removing the .html extension for marketing purposes. So instead of using www.mysite.com/page.html I can use www.mysite.com/page instead. Is there a way to do this in website X5?
I found a similar question here with a proposed solution however it was not fully solved. I'd appreciate any help.
Thank you in advance.

Hello Healy,
it's not possible to do that in this simple way. This is not related to WSX5 or the way renaming a file, but it concerns the server. If you remove the file extension, than the server thinks that it is a folder and not a file. So it automatically search for the index.html file.
If you need to create just a little link of an existing URL than you may consider some websites as http://tinyurl.com/ or https://bitly.com
There's a trick tomakea directoryon the serverwith the desired nameand placeforexampletheprojectfromthis directory, you cannow"www.site.ext/ directory"andcallthefileindex.html in the directoryis called.this canthenalso include adetour(metatagrefresh)
