Can the Incomedia Team provide more robust measures to combat spam for the guestbook? Perhaps an approach that does not involve the CAPTCHA approach, which spambots have no trouble breaking?
I know there is no single foolproof method to combat spam, but one approach I use on my phpBB forum seems to effectively keep spam bots away. Whereas I used to get hundreds of spam posts, I now get none at all. Here's my approach.
My approach is to use A simple Q and A approach which requires a correct response.
I have a list of tasks such as:
- Type the following "check word" backwards (example: fLy 2 = 2 yLf) : ForY 67Ft?
CORRECT ANSWER is, of course: ?tF6 YroF - Type the following "check word" backwards (example: fLy 2 = 2 yLf) : Professor Beaker+
- Type the following "check word" backwards (example: fLy 2 = 2 yLf) : H2SO4+H2O
- Type the following "check word" backwards (example: fLy 2 = 2 yLf) : Zygo-Pytho 2
So, can code for a Q and A anti-spambot measure be added as an option to the guestbook?
