I have a problem with the automatic registration in Website X5 Professional 10. It makes the table in Mysql database and writes all the data in it from the mail form I created, but in the admin controlpanel under Automatic Registration, the fields are just blank and the user can not login. I use one.com as server for my site. How does that mail form work to automaticly registrate users. I can not get it to work.

Hello Egill,

The screenshot you attached shows that the user cannot log in because you have optional email activation switched on in the Automatic Registration settings, and email activation has not yet taken place.

Once the 'user' clicks on the link in the activation email to validate, then the database will be updated to reflect this (and the user will then be able to log in).

Note that you shouldn't have to create an email form to accomplish user registration  -  WebSite X5 provides one automatically.  You may experience issues if you use a form other then the default.

Let us know if you require further assistance.

Kind regards,

Paul

I turned off the optional email validation it still doesn't work. Does the table names have to have specific names in the database?? Like Username, Password, Full_name?? I have tried everything.

Hello again Egill,

It's a lot simpler than that.  Have you read the manual?  The help files in WebSite X5 are exceptionally good.  If you press the 'F1' key whilst in the Access Management screen in Step 4 then you will be presented with context-sensitive help (very detailed too).

You need to create a MySQL database on your server which X5 can work with.  Thereafter you are only required to name the Database and Table (in the Settings tab)  -  WebSite X5 will take care of everything else including creating the Table itself if it doesn't yet exist, and naming the fields, etc.

After that just set the pages that you want locked in the sitemap in Step 2  -  when a user attempts to visit one of those pages WebSite X5 will direct them to the login screen automagically Smile

The login page doubles as a registration page for new users.

Hope this makes things a bit clearer.  Let us know if we can help further.

Best regards,

Paul
