Hi Paul,
Did you click on the ''Hidden page in the Menu'' option , in the tool bar (step 2 - Sitemap creation as well? By using this option, you will hide your sitemap menu as well. Is this what you are trying to do?
If it isn't, please give me a link to a similar website in order to show me exactly what you are trying to do.
