Custom Template Changes

Just purchased X5 Evolution 10 thinking I could use it as a better web page builder than Serif but notice in creating templates it is very restrictive like creating a separation between the top navigation and the header. Also creating a slideshow for the header, I notice everything must be restricted to boxes. I tried to create a navigation background that can tile horizontally so it takes the full screen but it stays as a block on the page not tiling the full horizontal of the screen.
For an example of what I want to do see this site I created in serif http://www.divefairhelen.com you can see the spaced boxes used for different elements on the page but cannot see how to do this in X5.
Is this at all possible.

Hello Michael,
You can add a separation between the menu and the header. You need to create a background image as example with a height of 50px which is then not repeated or repeated only horizontally and you set the height oh the menu in the template editor to 100px and as bacgroundcolor you set transparent.

Ok I got the template as the site but have an issue with adding anything on the header image as it does not show I guess as I am using as a slider.
What would be the best way to add text to the image and also the bottom white part with the logo does not show on the slider image either, it seems you cannot add anthing on to the slider image.

Can any one tell me if I can get text or other images on a header image using the slideshow in "Edit Graphic Image" section as I do not want to use the same image on all pages.
If not possible what is the best way to do a header where I can place images text and change the header image for each page like this http://www.divefairhelen.com

Yes you can, I have just chef the link and it doesn't seem to be a slider in the header but a static image, you can have a different image for each page by clicking on the header properties and choosing which page you want the header image to show on.

But now I am confused I thought you could only choose the pages when you put the "Slider" in the header and choose effects to choose the different pages.
How do you do it with a static image as the slider does not show any thing you put on top of it.

The only option I can see is if I put each element of the header as a slider meaning the large photo, then the bottom white part. Isn't that much to put so many slidder on one header.

Yes I know about using the slider in the header and choosing images for different pages, I notice you have text on the images how did you do it, did you place it on the image before adding to the header (like photoshop) or are you placing the text after you place the image in the header as anything I place on top of the image disappears, I just need to know if it has to be done before adding to the slider in the header or you can add anything on top of the slider like text and it will show.

Yes the text needs to be added on the image since the slideshow effect is made in javascript and this is automatically set in front of all other elements and it's why the text disappears.
Add the text directly on the images and then add those in the slideshow in the header and choose in which page every image has to appear.

Thats what I figured. I see I can add other elements on to header slider if I add another slider would you advise doing this or this would be too many sliders on one object.

Hello Michael,
You can add more slideshows on the header but this will only make the page slower to load. In any case if you decide to add more of them remember these follow the order of inserting. The last added will bwe on top of all others.
