Hello I'm using evolution 10 and can't link to any file on my pc. Unlike version 8 I get a save screen with a list of all the files in the directory containing the file I have selected. Please help as this is preventing me using your product. regards Tim

Tim, take a screen image of your problem, so I can see what exactly going on.

Hi Anthony
Screen Shot A shows creation of link to a file on my pc
Screen Shot B shows what happens when the link is clicked on the published website.
I've previously used Enolution 8, which opened the file correctly.
Evolution 10 does not do this, but displays the save dialog box.
Hope this is clear and that the screenshots are useful.
Thank you
Tim
Hello Tim,
Screen B is showing the "Save file" window where it asks you where you want to save it from the website on your computer.
If you refer to the option to open the files it depends on the settings of your browser because if you selected in past to download the .docx files as default selection then this window will always appear.
It also depends if your browser is able to load this type of file and if the correct viewer plugin is installed.
Many thanks!
Hi Tim
Claudio gave you the right answer, normally only pdf files will be open by browsers (still need to have the pdf plugin) but for microsoft word, they show the download option automaticly. new x5 create your pages based on html5, the old version of x5 are not html5 thats why you see a little difference.
if this post is the correct answer, please mark this answer as correct answer.
