Anchors - How to Create & How to Remove  en

I totally don't understand how to create and link anchors in this program.  And I've read the Help file and it makes absolutely no sense to me.  I tried to add an anchor to a page and the anchor icon now sits in the bottom right corner of the field (text.)  There is also an icon next to it, outside the frame.  So, how do I create the anchor point?  Can I use the HTML code feature and indicate the anchor point in HTML code?  Is that the intended way?

Russel,

I agree that this looks tricky at start.

You can set and name anchors on every object you wish, this anchor can later be used to create a link to it.

You already set it somewhere and gave it a name. first thing is that you need to remember the page it is on.

Now you need to set a link from another part of your website to that anchor you set earlyer.

Create the link with a picture or on a text, (use the link button) , goto second option website page, then select the page where you want the link to goto, then select the anchor you set on that page. That's it

Now a link is made from a picture or text from one page going to another page in this case and a certain object.

And removing it, just select none in the link option to delete the link.

select the object where an anchor is on, goto anchor button, select remove to remove the anchor.

Hope this helps.

Thanks.

Since I am rushing to complete this page, I rethought my original plan and need for the anchor but I want to make sure I have the procedure down correctly because I definitely didn't understand how to set up anchors from the Help files.  Since I'm new to your software, I need a step-by-step rather than general concepts.

Tell me if this is right:  I go to Page Creation and when I have my content for that page defined, click on the drop down menu for the anchor and create an anchor name for an anchor on that page.  Next I go to whatever page I want to create a link that will take me to that anchor.  I select an object (like highlighting text) and click on the hyperlink icon and from there I define which page and the anchor name.  Is that correct?

Thank you for responding so quickly.  This is one of two problems I have to solve and I will be able to publish a desperately needed site.

Yes thats it. The anchor will lead you to any object on any page.
