Hi
I've just created and published my first simple website for my kennels business using website X5 (www.cedarfarm.co.uk). Apart from a couple of very small problems... a really simple process. Thanks for a great product. My question concerns drop down menu items. On a desktop machine with a mouse (mouseover), they work really well. However on an iPad, once you have selected the main menu item, you have to touch the same main menu item again to see any associated drop down menu items - otherwise you do not know they are there!
How do you normally deal with this please on a mobile device
Thanks for you help
Graham

X5 is not realy a touch pad compatible, it works fine but there are some little problems , one of them is what you mentioned, I got around it in one of my website with a little trick.
check www.wdesigners.us (services tab)
what I did was I designed all the tabs in one extra page as well, so if you go over it with your mouse drop down opens automaticly, but if you click on it (which you have to do it on touch devices) then that page will appear with all the links inside it. hope this trick will help you as well.

Hi Anthony
Firstly many thanks for your help, much appreciated. I've had a look on your site both on a PC and Ipad and your idea works really well. I've had a go at creating your workaround (unfortuately I'm no web designer!) without success....my problem is that the main menu items and dropdown appear to be generated automatically. You dont have access to them - or am I on the wrong track please.
Again thanks everso
Graham
One final thought, it is really concerning that in my purchase decision of X5 their advertising says "Create websites that can be displayed on tablets and smartphones. WebSite X5 generates HTML5 code and guarantees compatibility with all browsers and mobile devices". I was not expecting to do workarounds to make my site work on an iPAD!
Graham, for that drop down you create your new level which create a folder inside map creation.
2.create the page with all tab inside it.
3.make the page hidden.
4. create your other pages under this new level which creates your normal drop down.
5.selec the folder, go to properties, link the folder to the hidden page.
DONE.
