Well, I see I am not the only one with trouble on the Free version but the other posts did not resolve the issue for my installation.

I have downloaded from the links provided in the other posts and directly from the site: https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/post/108539 and https://helpcenter.websitex5.com/post/109545andhttps://helpcenter.websitex5.com/post/109287 and

I have attached a picture of the downloads as it is very obvious they are all the same. I have 2 screen shots of the Free Activation sequence (not attached). The 1st one states that "This program will guide you through the Free activation process." The 2nd screen requests the Licence Key and email address.

I have downloaded using Chrome and IE 11

I have uninstalled before each reinstall.

I have cleaned the registry of all references to the applicaiton and the website after uninstalling

I have rebooted

I am on Windows 8.1

After all that, besides being very frustrated, I still get the Licence Activation window!

Did you have any other WebSite X5 software on your computer before attempting to install/activate the Free version?

No other software was installed and I made sure the uninstall was complete before the re-install.

Still no luck. Most of the posts send people to the same download page to download the same file. And it just does not work on 64 bit Windows 8.1. What other infroamtion can I give you that would help. It's a real bummer that I picked the WebSite X5 from a suite of other companies and can't use it.

Hello Paul,

As it seems probably your antivirus/firewall is blocking the connection to our server in order to activate the program.

You will need to uninstall the program and then temporarily deactivate the antivirus/firewall and then start again the setup installer so the program will be able to connect to the server to be correctly activated.
