Pictures do not show up in dynamic content  en

I tried putting an image in the dynamic content area after logging in and found that when I save, it just shows a broken image link and if I go back in to edit it it acts real quirky and wont let me edit it. Also where the image was supposed to be there is a long list of code. Is there image requirements when adding pictures and videos from your computer? It doesn't mention anything on the upload page. Please help!

It could be related to the folder where x5 put the picture files, it probably needs acces writes.

Set else a folder in step 4, datamanagement, in the 'writing acces folder'

Then upload again, press F5, and check if it works.

So I tried that. I still does the same thing. I put the folder as /image. does that need to be in a different format? I also noticed that it moves my other dynamic content on the page. Thanks for your help!

just set it as image, no slashes.

Try else the test in your admin panel. (yourwebsite adres with / admin behind it.

The login is set in acces management in step4, there is test button, try if this works without errors.

after login in your admin panel (acces pass is found in step 4 acces management,) there is a test buttun on the top left.

your acces panel is found by adding / admin at your websiteadres, then you get a login menu, login and pass is found in step 4 acces management in websitex5

Do you get a message after login ? does it say your website with admin behind it in the adress bar ?

Check if your provider has php5 and that you have it in your package.

I had this problem once with v10 here's a quick solution that worked for me, add a ham widget at the bottom of the page, in expert add your image, change files to the name of your image folder and save, then re upload the project let me know if it works for you.

Andre E - I logged in the admin section and clicked on the test button. everything says "pass" so I am not sure what could be going on. where does it store the folder that I put in website x5? I tried to browse to the folder but am unable to find it. Thanks!

Jamie B - thank you for your help! I am not sure I am understanding what I need to do. I need to add an html widget at the bottom and in the expert tab under that html widget I need to add all the pictures for that page? Some of my dynamic content will have various pictures. In some pages there will be added pictures down the road. Thanks again!

Great to see you found the test button, this gives a good result so a lot of items can be skipped for testing.

The folder you created in step 4 should have been created on your webhost root of the websiteadres you are using. and there the files are stored, but if you see code and no picture changes are it is not uploaded.

Do you have the website adres and maybe the login and pass? This way we can see and test in case it is something in your surroundings of your pc.....

Or have you tryed from another location / pc yourself ? This way your pc firewall and things like thatt are also checked.

Try also to delete all files on your webhost, reupload entire project, goto website, use ctrl-F5 and test again.

Ok so the folder did get created. I found it now. It is empty though. So I am going to try adding an image again to test. I also will try deleting the whole directory and see if that helps. Thanks for the ideas. Does it depend on the browser you are using? Is there a browser requirement for websitex5?

No, the browser should not be an issue. As long as it's not extremely old ....

You could test an upload at my test site as wel... (click my picture.)

Goodluck !

Andre E,

so I added the same pictures on your site. I seems to work just fine. So it must be something with my setup?

I am saving data to a database so that when I upload changes to the site, the content in the dynamic areas isn't lost. could it be that I don't have that setup right? I noticed that there is a spot where it says ip and it is blank inside of websitex5 11 pro. does that need to have something in there? Maybe a step by step checklist would be useful so I could make sure I am setup right. Thanks to all for your help on this!

also, are there any requirements on the type and size of a picture that you upload into the dynamic content?

You don't need a database or anyhting like that, it's stored in the folder at your host.

If you upload changes to your site your dynamic page will not be affected.

I tested at the beginning of the upload possibility with the biggest picture I could find, It uploaded without problems. You cab try it at my site as well if you want, just remove it after testing so other users have an almost clean test area.

It appears that was it! I disconnected the database from the project and just used "save to file" and now it is all working. Thanks Everyone for your help.
