Picture overlay zoom

I want to use ‘overlay picture’ with two same-sized pictures. When I preview this, the overlay picture is zoomed in. I have seen this problem in another topic but the solution does not work, I changed the column width and no.'s of columns but nothing changed.
I tried (as alternative) to use a picture with fade-out and a background picture, some outcome! Even with the exact same pictures... (in settings same borders etc.)
Can anybody help me? Do I have to change some settings? Which ones?

Use the picture object in th header, then select it. then there will be an option for a second picture, add your second picture there, adjust the height and width to your likings.
This should work with no problems.

I don't want to use the header, this is for one page only.
But looking at your suggestion I noticed that I used jpeg's.
(I made them in AI and exported them to jpeg instead of png)
After replacing the files with png's the problem is solved...
don't ask me how this works but it did :)
