Problem installing under Windows 10

I have just downloaded & installed Website X5 v13. The installation appeared to run OK, but when I try to run the program, Windows shuts it down with the following message:
"Incomedia Website Evolution has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available"
The version I downloaded is 13.0.0.13. I am running Window 10 Pro 64-bit.
Anyone had this problem? How do I fix it?

Hello Richard,
This is a known issue which is under investigation at the present moment by the developers.
There is a slightly newer edition of version 13 (13.0.0.14) available to download here:

As soon as other updates are released, proceed to install them. I am confident that it will not be long before a fix is available for the issue you are experiencing.
Please also read the following article, which might be relevant to your particular problem:

Slightly disappointing that you have released this latest version of Website X5 without apparently testing compatibility with Windows 10, so I would hope that you are working hard to produce a solution to this '... known issue ...' as a matter of some urgency.
When do you anticipate that a solution will be forthcoming?
The article to which you provided the link does not help, unfortunately, because it does not appear to be relevant to my case (because I DO get an error message and I have no Lavasoft software installed on my system ...).
WebSite X5 version 13 was tested rigorously before release, including with Windows 10. Your issue is rare, and is being addressed as a matter of priority.
I don't work for Incomedia. The developers and support team have an excellent track record in dealing with matters such as this, and I am sure they will revert to you soon.
Your error message fits this pattern exactly because it is non-specific... and several users have reported that they have been unaware that they have had Lavasoft software installed on their system.
I was only trying to help.
Please allow 24/48 hours (excluding weekends) for an official response from the Incomedia support team.
Quite a few users are finding "Webcompanion" (a Lavasoft Program) is installed on their computers without them realising it! It gets installed when a checkbox is not unticked in some other installation. In my case, ny son had installed it without realising. Removing it solved my X5 startup problems. Check your Control Panel for installed programs - you might be surprised...
Hi Richard, did you manage to solve your issue? If not, people are keen to help and we will stay on it until we get it sorted!
