This is the 1st time I have used this prog and all ok except when published it will not be responsive for tablets in Landscape mode or mobile phone in any mode. I lose the headers shape and all menu buttons? I was under the impression that this was done automatically !

This depends a bit on the template you choose.
Set responsive on in step2 template -> template customization -> resolutions and responsive design
Then upload again and check (use F5 in your browser to refresh latest data)
Another tip when you start out, if you have questions about any item or the item you are in in X5 then use the help F1 in x5. this gives you a lot of answers. There are also some how to do items that are very intresting.

If it is the Template , how would I know before finishing the project which in my case has taken a few months . When using the browser Preview it does not let you test for smartphone or tablet does it?

Hi Andre any luck?
sorry, I have some other things to do as well......
yes in preview you have on top a colour bar, by resizing the screen you can check all viewports, these colour correspond with the colour bars in x5 for the responsive views.
You need to set in the template the adjustment for items you have placed for every viewport.
Set the viewport in the preview to it's lowest value (just before the other colour comes up. Then adjust your pictures for this corresponding colour viewport in x5, then all should be good, again to this for all viewports.

So Sorry that means nothing? Can you be a bit more specific please I would be very grateful as I am very new to this...

Sorry just had another look and get your drift. I can see the colour bars in preview and see the way the template changes in different views in template structure . However when in the next level down I cannot find the way to adjust the colur bars in the template? Sorry I realise you are busy I am up later that I wanted so may have to sleep soon>>>

My Browser dose not always update ,but been trying a while to make adjustments but cannot fathom it. Will check again in the AM. Thanks for your help.
Hello Marcus, understood you've watched the tutorial videos for V12 and V13 a few times? Also looked thru the online help and PDF user guide with a focus on responsive design and templates? As it states, you have to check every page at every breakpoint setting and make adjustments to text and objects. The nav bar should change to a hamburger menu at some point. If a template won't give you the results you need, then you may have to go from scratch and use a template that you like as a model. X5 has a different work flow (not WYSIWYG) that takes a little time and patience.

Thanks Andre will have a look at the vids tomorrow , I appreciate all the help.
Do you work on the help desk ? Is there a help desk in the UK? Or do we have to call Italy.
Best Regards Marcus
Don't be sorry, no problem we will help out.
You can set the colours for the header and footer template design in step2 header and footer content.
You can select on the left the viewports for every colour for footer or header select the last once in the TAB top right if you wish to switch from header design to footer design.

This is the helpdesk, and I am just a user like you, but Incomedia staff is also available during office hours here in the helpdesk, also called Answers by many. They usually respond within 1 or 2 days.
Just take your time, learn see the videos online, check the helpfile this a realy good helpfile/manual that x5 has.
Also don't try to imidiatly create a big site, take it step by step focus on 1 thing and how it works, work that out, then got to the next.
Make a new project just for testing and getting to know the program and most importand, if you work on a project then create a backup from time to time in step5 export project. Especially if you have made big changes. or several small chenges, create a backup, set it on a different medium then your pc drive and update it often so if something goes wrong you can fall back on a previous better project instead of starting all over.
Goodluck, and if you have questions you can ask them here always.

Thanks Andre and Donald B. It is Now Fixed, thanks to your fab endeavours and perserverance. It is much appreciated. I always make several backups on a regular basis so am good there. I have learned a lot thanks to you. Onwards and upwards now... Please can you advise how I can give you the credit for the fix?
Just set the post that helped you as solved (after that the thread is closed as well), this helps me but more importand it helps others that are looking for the same issues. Also you can give a dumbs up for posts that where helpfull, this does not close the thread, but i gues you already did this. :)
Thank you for the feedback.
Have fun with x5.
