Website color theme and Hex color option  en

Maybe a practical idea to implement in a next version of WebsiteX5...

When only designing 1 website it isn't a problem. When designing 2 or more websites at a time, I come across two problems:

1. With 2 websites you are most likely to have different color schemes in use. Maybe a color scheme option would be very useful to include with your project. No I have e.g. 1 set of colors which I use for website N° 1 and a different one for N° 2 in which I do not use the standard colors provided. When I wish to add the new ones, I overwite some of the others. In this case the color scheme option would come very handy since I don't have to always type in the color values.

An already existing worjaround is to create your own color scheme outside the WebsiteX5 and then use the eyedropper. But yet again your color scheme is not included within the project itself.

2. When selecting a color it might be also be useful to add a Hex color option together with RGB and lose the HSL-option.

3. Why not combine idea 1 and 2 in a new color selection dialogue instead using the standard Windows color selection?

Thanks in advance for taking this into consideration!

Hello Paul

You could make a color-scheme by creating a hidden page where you had text-objects. Each text object you give a background color ( the color for the scheme ) , and in the text you could write where the color is used.

This way, you have a color-scheme integrated in your project.

When working on your site, you could have a copy of the color-scheme you have clipped and pasted to another oprogram.

This would make it easy to fetch the color by using the eyedropper that can fetch colors, also "outside" the X5 program itself.

I totally agree it would be useful to have a HEX color option.

Kind regards

Hi John

What you suggest is an intermediate solution, but it works... To some extent you already have a color scheme editor within WebsiteX5, the text styles section of the template. Maybe this could be extended to have a seperate pallet in view so that you only have the color options needed within the project.

I'll try and see what other programmes try to do with it and get back to you.

Kindest regards
