Hello,
When i upload a site (Upload all files) i am finding images being uploaded that have long been deleted from the project? I know that they do not exist in the project, but i can see them being uploaded.
How can i get clean project?
Thanks
Peter.

Hello Jamie,
I did try this with no luck.
Basically if i delete the image and gallery folders (which is where the images appear) within the project folder, then ctrl preview, the folders are recreated, and the images appear again.
They are not in the project anymore, so they are being stored in some other folder?
I have manually deleted everything on the server and just tried to ctrl preview and upload, i can see the images being uploaded again.

If you have the time, you could try save the project (export to iwzip) and then import the project from the iwzip. This may remove redundant entries in the project.

Tried this too, everything was still there..
P.S
If you export to hard disk, can you locate those files in the folder?
If you use Filezilla to upload the site from the folder, are those files transferred (after removal from the server)?
I have experienced this issue, but could not reproduce the problem reliably, so I did not request investigation. My guess is the XML file that is the project has this redundant information stored inside. How big is the iwzip? If we ask Incomedia to investigate they will probably require a copy of the project.

Hello,
If "Output to disk" and just select a new folder on the desktop, then view the files created, i can see the various images that should not be there.
So if i upload using filezilla, these will also be included.
So basically the files are being added by X5 and i can't seem to get access to any part of the software that would allow me to delete them.
The generated files are 102Mb.

Yes, if you upload with filezilla, and they are not already on the server, they will also upload.

Ok, i have tried everything - i think you are correct, i can see the files listed in the library.xml files so i am guessing i can not get rid of them myself.
I don't want to upload old files.
I am not going to waste any more time on this, i need to get something uploaded quickly, so i will convert to another CMS for the time being.
Thanks anyway.
Hello P. S,
The developers are working on a function to allow to remove them from the projects.
Many thanks!

Hello Claudio,
Many thanks - i have got something running, but i want to go back to this ASAP.
Hopefully i will hear when this has been done.

I have the same issue. I have almost 300MB of long removed images just being exported from the project on every upload. Since I have 1GB space on my hosting service this is almost 1/3 of the space allocated. Soon I will run out of space just because of old files. Looking forward to this functionality.
I have been having this error since 2013 - you can imagine the number of times I have had to manually delete the huge number of redundant images and files that I have introduced and then deleted over the years and many upgrades.
I am told this is also detremental to my Google ranking by the way - making me think its your software not my design work. (I am very open to suggestions though - hosting on godaddy)
I'm using v12 Professional (since v5 many moons ago) and refuse to spend another red cent on this software until you fix it.
I always thought it was my fault until I saw the thread - on version newer than mine!
You guys need to fix it and fix it fast - I've already lost 15 clients over the past seven years and I will go over to another platform in the new year regardless.
Good luck.

Same problem here, really unwanted and the dev's should fix this asap now.
David, the embedded files (images, videos, pdfs, etc) are an issue that Incomedia are trying to address, but the differences, features and advantages of V14 over V12 are justification enough to upgrade, especially since the "redundant file" issue is no worse in V14 than it was in V12. I doubt you will find any other platform as simple to use with a similar feature set and the same level of support, but if you do I hope you report back here.
I was able to delete pictures from the /images/preview folder that were no longer on my website. The backup images were located in the /website/library file. Since the files were given computer generated names without file extensions, I had to look at the file sizes and match them up with the redundant images in the preview folder. To make sure I had the right file I copied it and added the appropriate extension to view the file (.jpg, .png, .gif). Once these files had been deleted the images/preview folder no longer had them inserted when I opened my website in WebSite X5.
Larry, Incomedia is aware of the fact that old (unused) files remain "attached" to the project and then get exported to your website. This is a definite "bug" that will hopefully be squashed in the future.
I have the same issue. How to solve this problem?Just wait for the update?

Yes if the above options don't help.
But try the export project option and import the exported project, this cleans the project a bit, hopefully that helps, or any of the other Idea's.
and yes if it does not help you need to have patience
sorry
Thanks.
