After I complete a successful web page update and have done the FTP I now see on the xport page an option to Broadcast to Facebook. I try this and nothing happens. Is this a X5 problem or a Facebook issue.
I have embedded Facebook icons in my webpages and they all work to allow the link betwen my Webpage and Facebook.
I want to use the Broadcast option to advise members of an update to the website

Facebook has disabled the connection to your account facebook (main page in facebook), if you want facebook to be visible on yor website you need to create a facebook PAGE in facebook. That one can be linked.
See facebook help for this.

Thanks but I think this is the opposite to what I was asking. I want to advise my facebook that I have completed an update on my website and to tell them to take a look. This is what your Broadcast option tells me is available after I have done the FTP. Last page of X5 creation action on my PC.
All the Facebook links from my webpage are connecting OK, no Problem. Just the Broadcast feature goes nowhere.
Have I misunderstood your answere?

Hi Stewart.
The Facebook Broadcasting that you see in the last page after the export, simply tries to open your browser where you supposedly logged into Facebook with your account, in order to publish on your timeline a simple post where you announce this change.
What exactly is not working with you? Could you provide more details or a screenshot?
Thank you

Thanks Stefano. That is exactly the problem. When I tick the option Broadast to Facebook the PC screen goes blank and nothing else happens. I'm sure you are right and its a Facebook account problem and not an X5 problem. I presume that X5 knows about my Facebook account because I have embedded Facebook links on various pages and all of those links work OK. I can't give you a screen shot as it's just a blank page, no comment and no error, so I must presume that X5 thinks it has made the connection and Facebook should respond. Thanks for your help I will have to ask a Facebook expert what to do next.

Actually, this happens to me as well. It used to work when I was using Version 13 and (I think) Version 14, but I just tried it and got the same result as you.
Either version 15 is causing an issue here (my link on the site to Facebook works just fine) or (more likely) Facebook has changed a setting and this is causing the problem. I will see if I can do an upload using Version 14 to see what happens. I have a couple of older backups that might be able to be used for this. I can always upload the newest version again from v 15.
Hi Stewart.
The connection works this way.
The software will launch you default browser on the facebook sharing page. This can only work if you are logged into facebook in the browser and in the pc you're currently using.
Example : If you use firefox, check if you're logged into Facebook on firefox. If so, the software should open the share page on Firefox with your account logged in.
I can confirm that this works for me on v15.
Could you test this with what i told you and get back to me?
Are you logged into Facebook on your pc on your browsers?
What exactly do you see after clicking? please attach a screenshot here
Keep me updated on this
Thank you
Stefano
I tried this and it does not work the way it did previously. I logged into Facebook first and left the tab open. I updated my site and then used the "Broadcast publication on Facebook" button, but just left me on a blank page. It did update my Facebook though.
So, it works but not the way it used to work...
Hi Wayne.
This is indeed weird. It should not be able to publish the information without you click on the window that opens next.
Did you manage to fix the issue Stewart? Was the explanation provided what you were looking for?
Please let me know
