Hi,
I am unable to optimise any of my iwzip files using the Website X5 Optimiser programme.
I have just updated it today to the latest version, but still it will not do the job it is designed to do.
Can anyone help me get this very useful programme working again.
David

The optimizer mainly checks pictures and if they are too big for normal internet purposes, it renders them smaller. here the most is gained. If you already have your pictures in a good size and the rest is also well under control then it is already optimized, and the optimizer then cannot du much, in some case the result might even be worst (bigger project)
It is very useful for very big projects, like 10G or more.
So i gues your projects are already good and just can't be made better.
Check also if you have latest version, set firewall off/virusscanner off maybe that helps as well.
can you optimize other iwzip?
please show the details of the error message!
More information about the error helps for specific answers here!

Hi,
I have tried several iwzip files and all with the same result - an error message
The error message has no details included, as can be seen in the original screenshot I sent you in my first post.
The other thing I have noticed when opening the Website X5 Optimiser is that it always opens with the picture guide and no message to allow you to skip this page. When I re-start the programme the "skip this page" message is available and I can proseed.
Under details in the error message is synonymous per click nothing to see?
Did the error come before you can select an iwzip?
There seems to be an extension missing!
Did you reinstall the program optimizer?
JJ.
In Websitex5 (current and version of iwzip) you have installed and updated all used objects that are being used. (A suspicion that this will result in the lack of extensions when the Optimizer program is successfully installed.)
Try this:
Uninstall the optimizer and reinstall it with the Antivirus and Firewall off.
After installing the software test, if ok, set anti virus and firewall on again and add the software to the exceptions of the antifirus/firewall software.
Incomedia has developed this tool which is not useful.
Take care after running. Not sure to have all files in good format.
But during this same time bugs continues to be open !
I will prefer to have a stable product and not an addon not useful
Regards
David, after following Andre's advise (download a new copy and re-install), if it still doesn't work. . .
How big is the iwzip?
Perhaps you could provide a link here for Incomedia through wetransfer.com. If you do this please mark your first post as private (otherwise we can all download your website and have a play :-). Be aware that throughout August Incomedia appear to be dealing with some staff shortages/holidays.
install, uninstall, resinstall, test, big project... and blabla...
Wasted time ...
Pffff
Falck, I am aware of your frustrations, but I would like to know if David is having any success. I find it strange that some are having problems, and yet many of us do not experience any issues which would imply the problem is a 3rd party software problem.
David, one thing you could check is that you are not using cloud or external storage (eg USB/network drive) or cloud/network (some form of continuous backup) synchronised folders. These have been known to severely impact WX5 and Optimizer and ultimately break the process.
Please advise.
Hello Esahc,
It's your job to provide documentation with prerequisite and recommandations to install and run the software.
So if some restrictions are known it's also your job to do a documentation about restrictions.
At each time Incomedia aks to do some tests with no software x, with no connection y ...
If you provide a long list of all QA tests done by your team, everybody wins time. and your support will be less impacted.
Software with no or bad documentation from a company is not fully useful. The prove here !
Regards
Falck, sadly you misunderstand. I am a moderator, I do not work for or with Incomedia ( they do not work weekends :-) I am not privy to anything that is not available to you.
There have been issues in WX5 and associated software, but the vast majority of the time it is the environment, windows or 3rd party software causing the software to fail. I just try to replicate the problem or ask questions to isolate the cause.
Oups... Sorry Eshac for my mistake...about your role...
Have a nice day :-)
