Can the This Site Uses Cookies option be disabled?

When uploading your site to a server, it is set up to plant a cookie on every visitors computer or device. Is there a way not to place cookies on visitors' machines?
I am asking because the shopping cart form fields retain all their data from use to use, even the comments field. This is not overly helpful to the user to have to erase fields. Better to restart them all as blank than filled in.

Cookies are needed to keep the shopping card functional, not only for filling data.
you have already made an Idea post to change this.
I looks like this is the same post if so i will close it, if not please explain further.

The other post probably did not hit on the topic of cookies. This was something I discovered while practicing writing a new site. I have not used a shopping cart before, so I was unaware that cookies are required. Just seems odd that when I repeat visit other web sites, they do not seem to save (or have saved on my hard drive) all the cart field entries that were entered previously (and last). If you change an entry say in the comments field, next time you visit that cart, the last entry you had entered shows up. None of the prior ones, just the last one. Just seemed strange to me.
After looking at many sites in the Website X5 gallery yesterday and today, I see that every site I tested the cart on, does the same thing. Comments from order to order may not exist, but will most certainly vary when entered. Expecting the user to erase an old field entry just seemed to be a bit to ask of the user.
You can close this discussion as I do not believe it will yeild the answer I am seeking. Maybe the other post that you exceled into an idea post will find a result in a future version. If you would like to see more of what I am referring to, go to the US Postal website to create a click and ship on-line purchase. Data entry into their fields is never self populated, and it is never saved from what I can see. Unless you opt to use the address book function. So they must have some "autocomplete=off" type metatags or something similar.
Hello Johhn,
I will close this one then, the option is the same.
i also think that the ite's you have choosen should be stored in a cookie so that next visit the shopping card is the same but the information in the order form should be cleared. or at least be cleared at the wish of the creator of the site, best is that there is an option in x5 to select if you wish this or not, in some cases it might be handy.....
I will close this one and add the link to the prevous IDEA post so Incomedia get's a good IDEA about your wishes.
Thanks!
