Lock a map or folder  nl

In website X5 Evo I can create a page and lock it. Access is via a password only.
However, I would also like to lock a map with access via a password.
I don't think this is possible now. Only by using .htaccess.
Would like to see this made possible in website X5 itself.

Hi E M.

It is unclear to me as to what you mean by lock a "Map". Do you mean Level?

If you mean Level, then I'm afraid this cannot be done. Also, restricting a Level would not make much sense because Levels are not actual pages. They're just like folders containing more pages. If you wish to block those, you can simply restrict access there too

I hope I was helpful but let me know if I misunderstood the question

Thank you

Stefano

Hallo E M.

Stefano

Hello Stephano,

If I have a page in a folder, I can protect that page with a password/login.
However, I also want to be able to protect folders as I can create a link here to a file or website that needs to be protected (similar to the page). I do that now via .htaccess and that is cumbersome. It should be possible to update the program in such a way that you can secure a folder with a password/login.

Hello Stefano,

I've added a file where you can see what I mean.

Hi E M.

I see what you mean. Unfortunately, what you are indicating in your screenshot are just links. They're not actual pages but just links that lead to the page you want to protect. Are those pages created with WebSite X5? If so, you can simply lock the pages that the links lead to.

If they're external from the software instead, you will mandatorily need to apply the security measures externally, since the software has no control over it

I'm afraid that there's not much else that can be done for this.

Please keep me posted here if you have further questions on this

Thank you

Stefano

Hello, Stefano,

Thank you for your reaction.
It is true that the folder is a link.
In this case to my photo pages on the web server. Pictures are created and uploaded with jalbum and not with website X5.
I now understand why a folder can't be secured and a page can.
You go to a page that is secured and from a folder you go to the page in the link.

The best thing would be that, when I click on a folder with a link, the forwarding to the link via that folder can still be secured with a password/login.
There will undoubtedly be more customers who link through a folder and want security.
I'm doing it now via .htaccess and that's cumbersome.
My suggestion is to see if this can be added in an update so that the customer can decide for himself whether or not to apply it.
