Dear Community,
I am using Website X5 Evo version 2019.3.17 on Windows 10 Home and just starting having an issue that upton attempting ot open, it is stuck on 'Updating Libraries' and never continues to open. I have left it on the screen for several hours to no avail, rebooted the computer, and attempted to run as admniistrator, but my problem persists.
I had this issue with it before, but it always eventually opened.
Can anyone assist me with correcting this issue. Seeing that I currently can not complete my clients website update requests, it is sure frustrating to me.
Any assistance would be kindly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Danny

Daniel, as a workaround can you disconnect your PC from the internet? If there is no internet connection WX5 will not attempt to update.
Assuming this works for you then the problem is either a very poor internet connection or something is blocking update data. Start by disabling or temporarily uninstalling any 3rd party anti-virus / malware protection, firewall, vpn etc (standard Windows firewall/defender do not appear to cause the issue).
Let us know your progress?

Thank you for your asssitance and suggestions. I have attempted to disable my Internet and launch the software, but it is still doing the same thing. I am currently only running windows defender on this machine and have no other 3rd party software installed. My Internet connection also seems to be working just fine.
I will try rebooting the computer again and disconnecting Internet prior to launching to see if that corrects the issue. If that fails, what option would I have? Would reinstalling the software do the trick? My only concern is fear of losing the projects that I have currently saved in the software.
Thanks again. I truly appreciate any advice.
Sincerely,
Danny
Daniel, I will be surprised if WX5 does not open in a timely manner after reboot and removal of internet before starting.
Should you wish to re-install, download from your profile and note your activation key there also.
Your projects should not be affected by this inconvenience, but when WX5 is operating I strongly recommend opening each project in turn and going to step 5 export project to create an iwzip of each. This is a reliable bullet proof complete backup which can be imported at any time in the future (onto any PC). The same cannot be said for the built in backup routine at this time.

Thank you once again for your assistance. Yes, after rebooting and removing Internet, WX5 started up just fine.
I was thinking the same on your recommendation to backup the projects. This would be my bad and as often as I remind my clients of the importance of backing up, I would not win the award for practicing what I preach. :-)
I will also take note on the reinstall info. Its good to know that it is in my profile, if needed.
Thanks again for your quick responses to my problem. It is truly appreciated. Now, if only Website X5 would incorporate a spell-checker into their software, it would truly be a 10-star product!
Sincerely,
Danny

There is another thread here somewhere about the same issue. They could update normally by using their phone hotspot, but not their ISP. Turned out the service provider had implemented new anti-virus which blocked connection to Incomedia's servers for updates.
