In page creation, my page is continually freezing.  en

When I try to add text or images to the relevant box in 'Page Creation' the whole site freezes and stays so for several hours. This is happening continuously and is stopping me from working on  my website.

Hello Peter,

This can be caused by over-zealous antivirus software...  do you use any security packages on your PC?

Another factor can be if you have a lot of empty cells on your page layout.  It's best to have no empty cells at all, but to instead fill each redundant cell with an empty Object instead, such as an empty Text Object or empty HTML Object.

Kind regards,

Paul

I use Norton Security but I normally do not have any empty cells at all except the ones that have frozen. I now have on the page I am currently working on two image and two text cells empty because of the freezing. This for me is an intermittent problem.

I'm very quietly confident that Norton Security is the cause of the freezing, Peter.

You should be able to configure Norton Security to trust WebSite X5.  I don't use Norton personally, but the following forum thread seems to outline the procedure:

I have excluded Website X5 from scans and also form Auto-Protect, Script Control, SONAR ande Download Intelligence Detection. Should I close down the laptop and try agains with my editing as there is no discernible difference yet as the page is still frozen and I cannot even close down the programme?

Yes, please restart your laptop.  Once you have rebooted Windows open WebSite X5 afresh by running it as an 'Administrator'  (you can right-click on the program shortcut to do this).
