Embed excel data on page  en

Newbe to Web X5 and would like to know if anyone knows of a way to copy/paste excel cells onto a page.

I currently use a product (WebPlus) that has been discontinued, but it really handles this chore excellently. I can even use a fucntion (link) whereby, every time I make a change in the excel file, it is updated on the web page. Does anyone know if anything like this is available in Web X5 and if so, please advise as to how to perform this task.

Thanks in advance and I am hoping to switch to this software if I can get over this hurdle.

Thanks again,

Phil

Thank you

Looks like the CSV viewer will cost 12 credits to try.

My site is used to inform my friends of golf scores and standings in our league, which I calculate via Excel. Don't really want to get into a big expense - all retired on fixed incomes.

Is there any way to just try the CSV Viewer during my 15 day trial period?

Thanks again Aleksej,

Phil

Hello Phil

You could use a free csv-viewer. I recommend this (demo): https://derekeder.github.io/csv-to-html-table/

It is quite easy to use and in my opinion, it is better than the X5-csv-viewer.

It is responsive and it has a good instant search function. It performs good up to 1000 rows.

When you have a new file you want to view, you just have to upload it replacing the old one.

In the settings you can specify which delimiter is used in your file.

read about it here:  https://derekeder.com/csv_to_html_table/

Another way is to use Google Docs.

Then you will be able to have a spreadsheet (can be imported from excel or made directly online)  in your Google Docs you can share. On Google Docs you will be supplied with the code (to use in iframe) you then just have to copy into a html-object. That is all.

I think the GoogleDocs solution is much the same as you ask for. When the spreadsheet is edited, then the new data is to be seen on your page immediately without you have to do anything.

The html-object on the page "takes" its data from your web-sheet.

Here's a sample of how it appears on my site using WebPlus (WP). There are 2 things that do not come over; fill colors and bold cell outlines. Everything else works just fine.

John S. - I will try your idea, but it may take me awhile to get used to Google Sheets. I am in my golden years, so learning comes a little slower :-)

Thanks to all - think I'll like Web X5, once I get used to it.

I have a very old example here: http://www.calendarforum.dk/cottages/cottage-list.html

It has not been maintained for years - but the Google Doc sheet still functionslaughing

You can use tabs in the sheet (for different divisions) and you can use fill colors.

It is shown in an iframe defined in a html-object with code from Google Docs.

If the sheet is edited the changes will show up online.

I think the Google-solution will be ideal for you.

WOW!

That's even BETTER than what I use now. I could save a lot of time copy/pasting by using the tabs. Users of my site would also save time navigating.

Can you possibly give instructions as to how to accomplish this, not well versed in Google Sheets.

Thanks again John

Hello Phil

I can give some help about Google Docs and code from it - but not in this thread as Google Docs is not real X5 related.

You can contact me here: https://www.bramminginfo.dk/ - bottom of page.

If we bring you to a solution you can later add this to the thread then.
