Hello,

The new Multiple Location Map object needs normaly to have an API key to use it.

So does we need to provide an API key into the object configuration to work normally or does you provide this API key  inside the object with the bought object.

It is possible to use the API Key provide by Google for dev, but in this case the map has a watermark like this one.

Where to get a Google API key for a normal usage and does it free ?

Seems not free from Google ?

Nota:How many locations are available with the object.

Into the Google sources, there is no limitations.
By example for 6 locations.

var locations = [
['Raj Ghat', 28.648608, 77.250925, 1],
['Purana Qila', 28.618174, 77.242686, 2],
['Red Fort', 28.663973, 77.241656, 3],
['India Gate', 28.620585, 77.228609, 4],
['Jantar Mantar', 28.636219, 77.213846, 5],
['Akshardham', 28.622658, 77.277704, 6]

Please can you clarify how to use this object and if there is something to pay more fees to Google ?

Enjoy!
Axel

For a start when Google said "Don't be evil" then Google Maps were free. Then Google removed the clause "Don't be evil". Then you had to use an API key, but using it was free. Then you had to register and give credit-information. Then you had to pay if you exceeded an amount. Then the amount was decreased and the pricing was so not-simple that you did not know when/how much would be drawn from your card. Then I found another solution. And you see many also firms, that now uses OpenMap.

I also use the MyMap - but I am only waiting for when it will be connected to a credit-card. So I make no new things in MyMap.

So - now - together with a good friend and excellent coder, we have found a solution for the future based on OpenMap. No credit-card required - free also in future.

It is a map that places pins on a map from a folder with images. Images is geo-tagged will automatically be set as pins. It can be set up for more folders. If an image has no EXIF-data it can be set in manually. It also reads other EXIF data so you can have texts. It is also possible to have a textfile with same name as the image and then it is possible to have html "codes" inside for styling and links and other.

I have an example here: https://www.bramminginfo.dk/glad-zoo.html

The first version was based on a database but the new version functions without database.

You can see the pins in a list-view, and using a mobile you can have it navigat to a pin (turn it into a GPS using GoogleMaps on the mobile)

It is also possible to select on pins. The map is tested to function smooth up to 70.000 pins on a map. It uses clustering. It can show "tracks". If present you can check/uncheck tracks or routes or areas that is defined in one or more kmz-files and have them shown on the map together with the pins.

Caused by the Corona it should have been released end 2020. It is ready but the homepage is not ready yet.

It is a totally free piece of software that is actually two-in-one. It can run only as a map, but it comes also with a rather advanced image-album. Using it together with the album it can automatically use the thumbnails from the album which gives excellent performance if many pins is needed. The map contains a lot of functionality.

This is just to say: The GoogleMap is good. But there is alternatives and some of these is better and real free to use.

@Aleksej,

In your  example do you have used your link https://www.google.com/intl/en/maps/about/mymaps/

@John,

You openstreetmap seems very interesting too.

Paid 21 credits to Incomedia for a code clearly existing into Internet is really not the good solution !!!!
And we just need to create a map with their online website, and to add their link into the WSX5 project.
and IT IS FREE

Enjoy!

"In your  example do you have used your link https://www.google.com/intl/en/maps/about/mymaps/" - I'm not sure I understood your question. I created this example in a service from Google. I added the points I needed to the Google map and added a description for them. Then I just inserted it into the site as a regular Google map.

Comprei esse Multiple Location Map e não acho como buscar uma API grátis. Todas as opções são pagas.

Será que além de pagar pelo Objeto, terei que continuar a pagar para usar?

Hello LUIZ

You now have to give Google your credit-card information before you will get an API key.

But you will not be charged anything as long as the monthly use does not exceed an amount of counts. But how the use of the map is calculated is not so simple, so you will not be sure when you are taxed for the use.

I stopped using it. The MyMap solution is a good alternative. And so is the use of OpenMap.

I cannot understand why the "Multiple pin location map" should be a paid object. At least INCOMEDIA could tell there is better and free alternatives.

Incomedia should mention that an account with payment info is needed from google to work.

This will prevent unneeded downloads and money back request from customeres. I downlloaded this also and i am not going to give google my credit card or bank account. So credits spent for nothing.

It's just terrible from google as well, they should offer a certain hit value for free and lock if you get above that and then ask for money if you still want to continue, but not ask credit credentials then say free for a limited hits. That's absolutely the wrong way around.

I have a link to a better demo of the PinDown software here:

https://pindown.eu/predemo/index.php?fpath=pdfiles

Some of the functins can be read here: https://pindown.eu/

It is tested to operate smooth for maps that contain 72.000 markers. Bur of course it can also be used for maps with only 5 markers. Try out the "listview" and click a marker/image and see a fly-to be performed.

The packet will be ready for download probably in January (2022).

If you need it right now, then I suggest the GoogleMyMap. But be aware: You newer know when Googles map has to be paid for.

PinDown will forever be free.
