Problems with export

Hello.
I'm using Website X5 version 16.3.1.
This is a problem that happened a while ago but noticed it these days. When I export the site, I always use the backup option. For unknown reasons, when it exports, it also releases the files I used previously, in previous files, and duplicates them.
So instead of one logo f.e. I have logo_iqxjmpkw, logo_u6asd03b, etc, and all the previous images I don't use anymore since I have updated the site many times so far.
What could cause this issue?

I'm using the same template, etc since 2018, so it's cluttered and a lot heavier than it is supposed to be.
Is this something that happens in the new editions as well, or was it fixed?
Virginia, it happens far less often in new versions but it does happen. Worse still any "phantom" images stuck in your project will remain following upgrade.
You say you are loading from backup, can we assume you are using step 5 export project to iwzip (you can append the date to each one)? If so do not include backups or preview. When you import from iwzip it can reduce the number of these redundant files.
If you are relying on the built in backup (down arrow next to save), please do not, it is neither safe nor reliable.
My long term projects have many redundant images, other than annoying me because I know they are there they do not impact the performance of the website.
Also in newer versions.
I thought about this issue. Perhaps we ourselves do not delete files correctly. You must first delete the file, and then delete the module. And we immediately delete the module and there is no way to delete the file. This is my personal guess.
Extra files can be deleted manually on the server in the folder Preview - files and Preview - images. But you need to be careful not to delete the necessary files created by the program.
The next time you upload files to the server, if you select the only modified option, these files are not uploaded to the server. These files appear on the server if you choose to download all files.
