Do you know how to add a picture as image object and in gallery with "name-file.jpg" There is no file with that name in project but programm adds file with name "name-file_ggy7tt.jpg" (probably was added before but now is deleted. It's make me furious becasue seo is for name "name-file.jpg"

I need a project with clear name "name-file.jpg" in images objects and galleries. How to do it?

OK, maybe from other site. After export of project on disc I am able to change name of file jpg and change link to it in html file with image objects and it works. So it is enough for me and for seo with image objects.

But if I would like to do the same with gallery the specified image dissappear from gallery. Probably I need to change something more in other files (folder pcss and the right file .css has only some information to variables) but what should I change - where are variables with names of files from galleries?

Hello.

"Do you know how to add a picture as image object and in gallery with "name-file.jpg" There is no file with that name in project but programm adds file with name "name-file_ggy7tt.jpg" (probably was added before but now is deleted. It's make me furious becasue seo is for name "name-file.jpg"" - this is how the program works.

"After export of project on disc I am able to change name of file jpg and change link to it in html file with image objects and it works. So it is enough for me and for seo with image objects." - this is not a good idea. If you change something in the program and want to upload the site again, your changes may be overwritten.

"where are variables with names of files from galleries?" - i think they are somewhere in JS.

I just checked the filename in the Gallery object. It seems everything is fine.

I uploaded the file "izobrazhenie-01.jpg" and in the code it also shows up as "izobrazhenie-01.jpg"

yes, but delete file and try to add the same or other one with the same name - file name receive extra signs and even exproting to iwzip and generating project from it doesn't help - this name is "damned" for forever and ever amen

I think it's done on purpose. I would just give a different filename. It can differ even by 1 character.

All seo on images is broken because of such solution...

Hello Andrzej

I can agree with what Aleksej said and I am not sure that the file name is going to impact your SEO in any particular way as long as it contains the important parts in the name. The fact that a file might have a trailing part to avoid duplicates should not be a problem in this case

I can confirm that this is the way the system is supposed to work and there would be no way around this in case an image is used in more than one place but is getting optimized or cropped by the software for performance reasons

Are you joking Stefano? File is for ages in the first position in Google image and just disappear because programm added a few letter. Is it not going to impact seo?

Hello Andrzej

The original file you uploaded should not present any kind of added numbers, but only copies do. This means that if you had an indexed file before and this file still exists, it should still have the same priority online.

Additionally, the name of the file itself is probably not a sufficient reason for such a sudden and drastic change assuming it happened this fast.

Images are indexed according to their alt text and title as well since name files can not always be accurate.

Can you please verify if the original image is still online?

Thank you

Stefano

I don't know if you don't understand me or you try to discourage me. Problem is very simple - i add the same file that was deleted bufora and programm despite there is no file with such name in project adds this file with extra signs. I predict it is because programm has names saved somewhere like cookies in web browser (what for?) and there should be option to clear "cookies" if you really need to store old names of files. The same problem is when you try to add the same file in one gallery and in another ones - file is saved with orginal name once and with name with extra signs twice ( the same file is dubled in directory gallery).

Good afternoon Andrzej

I understand clearly what you want to say, but I'm trying to convey the fact that the name of the file is one of the least important aspects of SEO as far as images are concerned. I believe that Alt texts, as well as titles, are kept much more under consideration than the name of the file, and this can be seen by checking Google Images like you suggested and finding that many of the top images that appear do not have "normal" names configured. Some do, but many don't and still end up first.

For this reason, I do not believe that any change in the indexing of an image can be attributed to a change in the name of the file since it is common practice to add codes to name files to avoid duplicate and similar situations

I remain available here in case you have any other questions or doubt on the matter

Thank you

Stefano

Stefano, I don't belive you - facts say something other. I had changed website one time, alt text were the same and pictures changes its localizations even with the same names. It took more than half year to achieve the same conversion in google like before changes and with artificial adding images.

So the only I want is to clear projects from "damned" names of pictures and it is my question - how to do it and/or were they are stored?

Hello Andrzej

Unfortunately, I am afraid that it simply isn't possible.

In order to try and achieve something like this you can try to change the image's name so that it is different than any you used before and check whether the filename remains the same online.

Although, as I mentioned before, there are many occasions in which the software might take the original image and then crop or alter it for performance optimization online thus generating copies of the file with pieces of text attached at the end.

It is currently not possible to simply change the file name of the exported file. I would like to reiterate though the lesser importance of the file name and I would also highly advise contacting an SEO expert so that he might check your website for what can actually be optimized. I strongly believe that the fact that the image's names could be different would make close to no difference in this case.
